ACR DSI Participates on Panel at AI Health Law and Policy Summit

ACR Vice President of Data Science and Informatics Laura Coombs spoke on a panel at the AI Health Law & Policy Summit held in Washington, D.C., on May 18, 2023.  

The summit, presented by global law firm Hogan Lovells, gathered thought leaders and industry guests to address a variety of topics including new and emerging health care artificial intelligence (AI) policies and regulatory considerations, implications for ethics and consumer safety, and developments in the EU. 

Coombs spoke on the "Regulating Evolving AI Technologies” panel alongside colleagues Dr. John J. Smith, a partner at Hogan Lovells, and Sonja Fulmer, Assistant Director for Digital Health Policy at the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. The panel was moderated by Suzanne Levy Friedman, counsel at Hogan Lovells. 

Other panels at the summit included Market Access Landscape – Coding, Coverage and Payment; AI Data Privacy; AI & Public Policy – How to Safeguard and Incentivize Innovation; and AI Dealmaking: Launching AI Products, Negotiating AI Agreements, and Completing AI Transactions.
